Looking to get all that accuracy out of your AR-10 platform? You’ll need a great stock that gives you a sturdy and repeatable cheek weld.

    Best AR-10 Stocks

    1. Magpul STR

My favorite adjustable stock is the Magpul STR when weight is not a problem. You’re probably not running and gunning with your AR-10!

    MOE STR Stock
MOE STR Stock on PSA AR-10

It gives the best cheek weld out of all the tested adjustable stocks…check it out when compared with a regular Magpul MOE buttstock.

    MOE STR vs MOE Cheekweld
MOE STR vs MOE, Top View

It’s a little heavier at 12.5 ounces but this heft balances out the more front-heavy AR-10…plus it works well with a rear sandbag. Rear is the same footprint with mild rubber that stays put when needed and doesn’t snag.

    MOE STR vs MOE Back
MOE STR vs MOE, Back View

I got introduced to this one when I got my PSA AR-10 in .308 (full review) and it also worked great when I got a 6.5 Creedmoor upper too.

    PSA AR-10 .308
    PSA AR-10 .308

My pick if you want a super nice (and repeatable) cheek weld. But still, some adjustability to lower the overall length of your AR-10.

    2. Luth-AR MBA-1

Looking for the best bang-for-the-buck fixed AR-10 stock? It’s probably the Luth-AR MBA-1.

    Luth AR
    Luth-AR MBA-1

Tons of adjustability and a decent cheek weld. Check it out when compared to the MOE.

Rear footprint is roughly the same as the MOE and has the same nice textured rubber.

It’s what I’ve been using on my Aero M5E1 .308 for a while now (full review).

Plus…you can’t beat it for the price…especially when compared to my favorite at the end.

    3. Magpul PRS

Now in its 3rd generation…the Magpul PRS is the gold standard for AR-10 stocks.

PSA AR-10 Lower with 2-Stage Trigger and Magpul PRS
PSA AR-10 Lower with 2-Stage Trigger and a Magpul PRS Stock

SUPER sturdy with a heft of 31 ounces. You’re not going to be humping your AR-10 around much.

Now you’re rewarded with a true quality feel and nice adjustments in length-of-pull and cheek weld.  Though the cheek weld isn’t the best out of all the picks.

    Magpul PRS vs MOE Cheekweld
Magpul PRS vs MOE, Top View

Rear is bigger to absorb the likely harsher recoil of the AR-10 compared to the AR-15.

Here it is on my 6.5 Creedmoor from PSA (full review).

If you value stability and adjustability…while giving up a little bit in cheekweld and weight. The PRS is for you.

Rounding out the list is the Mission First Tactical Battlelink Minimalist Stock.

This model offers a non-slip rubberized buttpad and multiple sling slots.

The stock is also an affordable one — coming in around the $50 mark. So, if you need to balance performance with budget, this is the stock for you.

    Final Thoughts

There you have it…our top picks for AR-10 stocks.

Whether you are looking for a minimalist setup or something with a ton of adjustment to get that perfect positioning every time, there is a stock out there for you.

Love your website. I’d like to see a review on the fab defense RAPS-C stock and B5 adjustable precision stock sometime.

I also like the Magpul PRS Lite. requires a tool to adjust the comb height, but its lighter, and a lot less $$

The MagPul MOE-SL adjustable, for the price is far superior.
I got mine for around $30, including shipping. Very secure fit.
      Includes QD mounts.

The original was a fixed A2 military style with storage hatch. It works well with a lead weight you can buy or just put your cleaning kit in there as I do. The A2 works great on sandbags. Your long-range capability is only as far as your scope ($) can take you accurately. If you have a LR-308 you have a nice start at long range hunting.

When I searched for "Rifle" stocks, I meant Fixed Rifle Stock, NOT CARBINE ADJUSTABLE STOCKS!

When I think of AR10s, I’m thinking long range and/or precision shooting. The MFT minimalist stock is not ideal for either. Doesn’t balance well and has minimal cheek weld. I often question the people who write these articles.

I used the Magpul PRS on my AR10. The cheek riser interfered with the charging handle and I had to trim about a half inch off the forward edge to make it work. Otherwise, it works just fine.

Your muzzle brakes link at the end is bad. It just links back to this article.

What the opinion on the Magpul MOE Rifle Stock? I’ve got an Aero build, minus the stock. Glad I stumbled onto this review, as I didn’t know about the Luth AR stock.

I think you missed the most obvious choice for an AR10, the MFT Battlelink Minimalist stock. AR10s are heavy pigs and need all the weight reduction they can get. With a rifle length gas system they are suprisingly gentle to shoot....at least for a 308.

I really like the Minimalist for my AR-15 but for me it makes the balance of the heavier AR-10 feel really off.
